Shweta Bharti carries with her an enriched experience of almost 20 years as a litigator primarily focusing on dispute resolution and arbitration in corporate commercial matters. Shweta has also handled some path-breaking matters in insolvency and bankruptcy cases including reverse insolvency. Her other areas of specialisation are real estate, environmental laws and corporate commercial advisories, corporate governance and compliance.
She is a recipient of several awards and accolades and was recently recognised as the Thought Leader of the Year – India and Middle East by the Asian Legal Business Women in Law Awards and is also a speaker at various forums, seminars and webinars both domestic as well as international.
Shweta is also the jurisdictional council member of IPBA and has also held the position of chairperson of the Environmental Law Committee of the IPBA in the past. She has also written various articles and publications, the latest being the contribution in compliance, ethics and integrity from the Indian perspective in the Global Ethics, Compliance & Integrity Yearbook 2021 compiled by the Viadrina Centre for Compliance in Germany. She is an author on Compliance Laws in India published by Bundesanzeiger Verlag, a leading German publication, and contributed to the World Bank’s Women Business and Law.
She also sits as an independent director in various multinational companies as well as acting as the external member of the POSH Committees of the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority and the Observers Research Foundation (in the past), and conducted various investigations on various complaints. She was also a member of the task force formed by Invest India, under the aegis of Department of Justice, to examine the issues relating to time standards and delays.
Shweta is hugely respected and recognised by the courts and legal luminaries/senior counsels in practice and has advised the various ministries of the Government of India on various legal reforms issues.
She holds a double MBA in International Trade & Business and Marketing & Business Development. Pursuant to which, Shweta has an LLB from the University of Delhi and has also completed her executive course on managing a professional services firm from the prestigious Harvard Business School.
