Priti Suri, the founder and managing partner of PSA, has over 35 years’ experience across three continents in corporate counselling. A first-generation lawyer, she started as a litigator and evolved as a business adviser, who is known for her pragmatic ability to get the deal done and find a resolution to complex issues.

After a decade’s work experience in the US and Europe, Priti established her base in India. She developed the firm and represents its international and domestic clients in the full range of cross-border M&A transactions, JVs and restructurings. She counsels on corporate governance, CSR and ethics, and works closely with senior management on the full range of day-to-day operational issues and related dispute resolution. Her representations are over USD16 billion across a spectrum of industries.

Additionally, right from the outset she created a framework to encourage and promote participation by the firm’s lawyers in providing effective pro bono advise so that everyone at PSA realises that giving back is essential and central to what the firm does. It regularly partners with and supports domestic and foreign social impact and not-for-profit organisations across the globe as part of this initiative and counsels them end-to-end on a wide range of matters, including strategy, structuring, foreign contributions and CSR.

With an upbringing strongly grounded in her family’s encouragement for education and financial independence for women, Priti has continued that tradition with a focus on helping other women professionals. At a time when such ideas were nascent, during her education and legal career, Priti has consistently fought for gender-based equality so that more women are in the boardroom or in leadership roles. An active member of the international bar, Priti chaired the India Committee of ABA for two years. In April 2017, she became the first Asian to be honoured with ABA’s prestigious Mayre Rasmussen Award for the Advancement of Women in International Law. She led the Women Business Lawyers’ Committee of the IPBA for four years and is currently an officer of the IPBA, chair of its Publications Committee and a board member of iTechlaw.
