After Akin’s decision to cease operations in Beijing at the end of last year, its senior counsel Dennis Yeung based in China’s capital has recently joined Yang & Yang Solicitors as a partner.
With 20 years of experience, Yeung specialises in M&A, capital markets, private equity and regulatory compliance. His clients mainly include state-owned and international corporations, fund houses, financial institutions, and listed companies.
In addition to Yeung’s arrival, Rossana Chu – the former managing partner of EY’s legal arm in Hong Kong, LC Lawyers, joined the firm at the beginning of 2024. On the heels of her arrival, Yang & Yang announced an association with East & Concord Partners in Hong Kong.
Akin had previously disclosed in December 2023 that it would close its doors in Beijing in 2024, while maintaining their presence in Asia through their Singapore and Hong Kong branches.
