Jincheng Tongda & Neal has set up a Chongqing office, liaising with the Chengdu branch to expand its presence in the southwest region.
Zhou Mingbing, the former partner and vice committee director at leading home-grown law firm K&H, has joined JT&N as the executive director, and will lead the Chongqing branch to provide services in the real estate and construction engineering, finance, compliance, dispute resolution, and criminal law sectors.
Data from the Chongqing Bar Association shows that the number of lawyers in the municipality has risen to 17,345 in 2023, which is a 62% increase from 10,709 in 2019. The ratio of lawyers per 10,000 people has also increased from 3.9 to 5.4, surpassing the national average of 5.06.
