After establishing a presence in Ho Chi Minh City in 2015, Japanese law firm Anderson Mori & Tomotsune launches its second Vietnam office in Hanoi to meet the increasing needs of clients.

Partner Yasufumi Miki, the chief representative of the Ho Chi Minh City office, was relocated to Hanoi to lead the new office in the same role. Miki has been in Vietnam since the firm first came to the country, handling domestic and cross-border M&A, as well as various kinds of corporate transactions in Vietnam and other Asean nations.

Miki will be assisted by partner Kazuhiro Fukuda, who was assigned to Ho Chi Minh City in 2018 and is experienced in domestic and cross-border M&A and other corporate transactions, particularly in various Vietnamese law-related matters. Fukuda also advises on a variety of compliance and corporate crisis matters.

As the country’s capital, Hanoi is also home to major government agencies, the central bank, and the headquarters of many multinational corporations’ local subsidiaries. With the further expansion and diversification of Japanese companies in Vietnam, Anderson Mori & Tomotsune saw the necessity to establish an office in Hanoi.

Anderson Mori & Tomotsune has been advising on foreign investment projects in the form of joint ventures with local partners and representing clients in various M&A transactions in Vietnam.
