Wintell & Co’s newest office in Beijing has welcomed senior partners Ray Li and Wei Yi, while senior adviser Eding Yi has joined the firm’s Shenzhen and Shanghai branches.

The latest recruitment has strengthened the firm’s speciality in investment, M&A, financial leasing and aviation finance.

Li began his career at Global Law Office and then moved to Zhong Lun Law Firm. Minsheng Financial Leasing Co employed Li as a senior legal counsel in 2014 for seven years, before he became a partner at Tisize & Partners in 2021.

Li had proven his special skills in financial leasing transactions during his stint at Minsheng Financial Leasing Co where he became the in-house counsel in charge of the shipping business department.

Aside from ships, Li’s experience in financial leasing transactions extends to aircraft, vehicles and equipment in China and abroad. He also has expertise in investment and financing, financial leasing and dispute resolution.

Wei, formerly a partner at Tahota Law Firm, specialises in M&A, private equity, investment funds and other areas. Wei has advised various state-owned enterprises and listed companies.

Yi specialises in private equity and equity investments, M&A, IPOs, restructuring and insolvency, aviation and financial leasing, corporate compliance, and related dispute resolution.

The senior adviser has dealt with many cross-border transactions including assisting the US aircraft manufacturer Cirrus in plane deliveries and helping Chinese companies to acquire flight training schools.
