Tilleke & Gibbins has hired tax lawyer Auaychai Sukawong as partner and head of the firm’s regional tax practice in Bangkok. Sukawong arrived from KPMG Thailand in Bangkok with Chanattorn Thunyaluck, who joins the firm as senior associate. Sukawong was a partner for more than eight years at KPMG Thailand where Thunyaluck was tax associate director.
Sukawong brings more than 20 years of experience practising tax law with several leading accounting and professional services firms. He focuses on tax structuring for inbound and outbound investment in Asean and outbound investment structuring for regional companies expanding overseas, especially into China, the EU, India, Japan and the US.
Sukawong is experienced in investment structuring planning, tax treaty interpretation, base erosion and profit shifting advisory and implementation work. Other areas include tax implementation related to business restructuring and reorganisation, and tax due diligence.
Thunyaluck focuses on M&A-related tax and transaction advisory, tax mitigation planning for business restructuring, tax and legal advice for inbound and outbound investment, and other tax and compliance regulatory matters. She brings 15 years of experience in tax structuring for high-net-worth individuals and family businesses for legacy planning and IPO purposes.
