LG, a London-based law firm, in July advised leading Indian IT service provider Patni Computer Systems on its acquisition of European-based company Logan Orviss International (LOI).

The acquisition adds strength and depth to Patni’s communications and media consulting practice. LOI, a leading provider of telecoms consulting services, will become Patni’s telecoms consulting and advisory practice.

Sunil Kakkad, head of LG’s India Group set up two and a half years ago, led the team advising Patni.

“LOI is a significant strategic acquisition for Patni and its first in Europe. I am delighted that LG was able to assist Patni with the acquisition,” Kakkad said.

The deal was the sixth AIM listing by an Indian company that LG has advised on.

“We have now acted for six of the top 10 Indian technology companies by providing legal advice on exercises outside of India,” Kakkad said.

Kakkad said that the firm now has the market lead in terms of AIM listings by Indian companies following the its increased focus in the region.
