Project finance lawyer Jon Ornolfsson has left Morrison & Foerster, where he was a partner for more than three years and split his time between the Singapore and Tokyo offices, to join the Tokyo office of Baker McKenzie.

Ornolfsson will be as a partner in Baker McKenzie’s finance and projects practice group. Having been based in Asia since 2007, Ornolfsson advises on many high-profile energy transactions across the region.

His client base includes leading Japanese trading houses and energy companies, and other global project developers and sponsors, as well as a number of Asian government entities.

Ornolfsson is admitted to practice in England and Wales, and is qualified in Japan (gaikokuho jimu bengoshi). His practice includes M&A and joint ventures, project development and project financing within the oil and gas, power (conventional and renewables), chemical and other energy-related infrastructure sectors.
