Jingtian & Gongcheng has hired Liu Wei and Justin Ma in Hong Kong, Jin Tian and Zhang Long in Shenzhen, and Jiang Liwei in Shanghai.

Liu joined from DLA Piper, where he was the head of China practice. He was also the head of China practice at the former Mallesons Stephen Jacques before it merged into the current King Wood & Mallesons. Liu was a secretary to a vice minister of the Ministry of Justice and participated in Hong Kong Basic Law’s drafting in the 1980s.

Prior to Jingtian & Gongcheng, Ma worked at DLA piper and Kirkland Ellis. Admitted to practice both in Hong Kong and Australia, he has acted for many major investment banks and corporations in corporate finance transactions including Hong Kong IPOs, spin-offs, M&A and compliance matters of listed companies.

Jin and Zhang joined Jingtian & Gongcheng from the Shenzhen branches of Jia Yuan Law Offices and King & Wood Mallesons, respectively, and both ascend from associates to partners. Jin’s practice is focused on IPOs, PE investment, M&A, and enterprises restructuring and reorganisation, while Zhang specialises on dispute resolution, securities litigation and major commercial transactions.

Jiang joined from LexField Law Offices, where he was a partner. Prior to that, he had worked in four courts in Beijing for 12 years with 10 years of experience in intellectual property trials. Jiang’s practice is focused on the protection of IP rights, anti-monopoly, anti-unfair competition, and litigation and arbitration.
