Chinmay Mirji, a partner with HSA Advocates in the firm’s dispute resolution and real estate practice, is leaving to pursue a career as an independent counsel and take an active role in public policy.
Mirji joined HSA after merging his firm, Atman Law Partners, in September 2018, and was based in HSA’s Bengaluru office.
He has more than 15 years of experience and has dealt with complex real estate transactions for leading developers in Bengaluru. He has also regularly represented leading companies and developers in litigation.
“The pandemic allowed me additional mind space to consider options and avenues for the next phase of my professional career,” he said. “I am looking forward to a new set of experiences as an independent counsel and pursuing a role in public policy. I am leaving with fond memories of my time at HSA and will continue to remain a friend to the firm.”
Mirji was appointed central government counsel in 2015, representing on matters including criminal cases and tax-related issues in the High Court of Karnataka.
At the time of his joining HSA, founding partner Hemant Sahai said: “Chinmay and his colleagues add an important dimension to our practice, not just in Bengaluru but nationally, and especially in southern India.”
