Hiways Law Firm expands its offshore footprint with the opening of its fifth overseas branch in Sydney and plans for an office in Houston, Texas, which is expected to be operational in the first half of 2024.
The new offices each will have around 10 professionals. In Houston, Wang Xiaozhen will head the office and guide its establishment, while Sun Jing will lead the team in Sydney. Sun, who is the principal solicitor of Sun Lawyers, is currently in a transitional phase between the two roles.
The Sydney office will focus on Australian property purchases, immigration, real estate, companies, labour, inheritance and other litigation and notarisation matters.
Ouyang Qun, Hiways’ executive director, said that changes in international and domestic situations had reshaped the global landscape. Strengthening internationalisation strategies had become a key consideration for the firm, Ouyang added.
“In the future, the focus of Hiways’ international development will not only be establishing overseas branches, but also to establishing a domestic and international business linkage system,” said Ouyang.
