DSK Legal advised and represented the Maharasthra chapter of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association (CREDAI-MCHI) before the Supreme Court in the matter of Godavarman Thirumulpad v Union of India & Ors, gaining clarification on an earlier June order by the court to the great relief of the real estate developers.

The June order of the court mandatorily directed a 1km boundary to be fixed for every protected national park or wildlife sanctuary.

In the clarification, the Supreme Court stated that the eco-sensitive zone (ESZ) boundaries of 1km fixed vide the June order would not be applied to the Tungareshwar Sanctuary. The firm had also gained the same relief for the clients in respect of Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary earlier.
