Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) and DSK legal assisted on Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited’s (APSEZL) 49% stake sale in Adani Vizhinjam Port Private Limited (AVVPL) to Mundi for USD1.397 billion.
APSEZL signed the share purchase and subscription agreements with Mundi, a subsidiary of global container operator Terminal Investment (TiL), on 29 June 2026. Mediterranean Shipping Company is backing the transaction, which sees Mundi (49%) and APSEZL (51%) share ownership in AVVPL. AVVPL holds the concession to develop and operate the Vizhinjam Port in the southern Indian state of Kerala on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis.
“Shipping, transhipment and shipbuilding are the areas of focus for India today as the government looks to make India a maritime hub,” Surya Sreenivasan, the lead CAM transaction partner acting for APSEZL, told India Business Law Journal.
“Working with the Adani team was a great experience as always – their clarity of thought on what the key points are for them on the deal keeps the deal discussions very focused.”
Sreenivasan had assistance from senior associate Yashaanki Kora on the team.

DSK Legal acted for Mundi with partners Anjan Dasgupta and Avinash Kumar Khard leading the projects team supported by senior associate Abhikalpa Ghosh. Transaction team was led by Dasgupta and Khard with principal associates Manhar Gulani and Devika Rana.
Partners Harvinder Singh, Roochi Loona, Shruti Dogra and Khard led the due diligence team, with assistance from their associates. The competition law team was led by partner Abhishek Singh Baghel, senior associates Shivam Sharma and Devraj Sood with associate Vanshika Rana.
