Corporate specialist Kitty Chan has joined Appleby as a partner in Shanghai and legal manager in Hong Kong.
Chan specialises in equity capital markets, M&A, foreign investment, corporate governance and compliance matters and regulatory enforcement. Before joining Appleby, she spent nearly 10 years at Fangda Partners, where she advised companies in the manufacturing, food, apparel and environmental sectors on their Hong Kong IPOs.
In August, Appleby hired a resident partner for the first time in its Shanghai office, becoming the second offshore law firm after Harneys to have permanent lawyer based in mainland China.
