AllBright Law Offices has established a Kunming office to develop business in Southeast Asia and South Asia, adding to the Hong Kong and Tokyo branches opened earlier this year.
Xiong Bin, previously the chief partner of Weixing Law, will be the director of the Kunming branch. He is also a director of the All China Lawyers Association, vice president of the Yunnan Provincial Lawyers Association and president of the Kunming Lawyers Association.
Yunnan is at the frontier of China’s southwestern region, which links with the country’s southeast and southern areas, making it an important hub for cross-border trade. Demand for legal services is predicted to increase as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership took effect last year, a trade agreement between all Asean member countries, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
