Global Law Office has welcomed Li Deyuan, Li Yuanyuan and Yang Haoyan to their Beijing and Chengdu offices to boost the firm’s businesses in private equity and investment funds, M&A, and banking and financing.

The Beijing-based Li Deyuan is a specialist in various areas including PE/VC, M&A, and foreign direct investments. He was involved in many major transactions, such as Tencent’s investment in Xiaohongshu, Didi’s equity financing projects, Ford China’s RMB6.6 billion (USD911 million) acquisition of Hafei Motor, and Haisco Pharmaceutical Group’s cross-border investments and M&A projects in Israel.

Before joining Global Law, Li Deyuan was a partner at Merits & Tree Law Offices, and had worked at Fangda Partners and Zhong Lun Law Firm.

Li Yuanyuan and Yang have joined Global Law’s Chengdu team. The former, who practised at W&H Law Firm, specialises in corporate compliance, domestic and cross-border M&A, international trade, and dispute resolution, while Yang focuses on banking and financing.

Leveraging nearly a decade of experience as an in-house counsel at Dongfang Electric, Li Yuanyuan has developed the ability to identify and address legal risks that may arise during the construction and operation of power stations. This enables her to handle disputes involved in domestic and overseas construction.

Yang was the perennial legal adviser to many state-owned companies and the government. He also consulted on public-private partnership projects and local bond issuances.

With a wealth of experience in debt restructuring and bankruptcy, Yang also acted for creditors, such as Sichuan Tianfu Bank and the Sichuan branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, to deal with bankruptcy proceedings.

M&A and dispute resolutions are also among Yang’s various practice areas.
