Yum! announced in June the appointment of Vinod V Mahboobani as vice-president development, Indian subcontinent, reporting to Niren Chaudhary.
He will take the over the role on September 1. Mahboobani will continue to serve as the company’s vice-president, legal for the Indian subcontinent, reporting to Jim Elgass.
Mahboobani began his career with Yum! in 1996 in Hong Kong as a lawyer supporting the Asian region.
He provided critical legal support to the Pizza Hut equity business in Korea including setting up the first regional franchisee in 1999.
He played a key role in litigation in Thailand in 2000 and in the re-franchising of Yum!’s equity business in Singapore in 2002.
He also concluded a very complex KFC Japan joint venture contract renewal in 2004.
