In more fall-out from Hogan & Hartson’s merger with Lovells, mergers and acquistions and private equity lawyer Roger Peng, the former managing partner of Hogan & Hartson’s Beijing office, has joined Paul Hastings as a partner, also in Beijing. His former colleague Victor Yu, also an M&A specialist, has joined Fangda Partners.

Peng’s practice focuses on complex M&A, private equity, venture capital and commercial transactions, with a particular focus on telecommunications, media and technology. His appointment is “a significant development in the expansion of our M&A and private equity capabilities in the Greater China region,” said David Livdahl, chair of the Paul Hastings office in Beijing.

Yu, who will be a partner in Fangda’s Shenzhen office, is qualified to practise PRC and New York law. Fangda said that he reinforced its efforts to provide clients with a one-stop service in international transactions.

In another development, two Fangda counsel, Benjamin Miao and Frank Li, have been elevated to partnership.
