Suman Kamani is bringing more than three decades of experience to ALMT Legal following her recruitment as a partner at the Mumbai office.
Kamani’s expertise spans corporate and commercial law, M&A, dispute resolution, real estate, matrimonial and private client practice.
She began her career with Crawford Bayley & Co and Luthra and Luthra Law Offices before moving to in-house roles. She held positions at Hinduja Group and its companies, including Hinduja Ventures, Hinduja hospital and college, IndusInd Bank, Gulf Oil, Hinduja Global Solutions and NxtDigital.
She has advised large corporates and multinationals on acquisitions in both domestic and international markets, including cross-border M&A transactions with Fortune 500 companies and listed entities. She has also represented several international banks and business houses in loan syndication and commercial agreements.
Her expertise in litigation — civil and criminal — covers company petitions, winding-up proceedings and schemes of amalgamation for large corporates. She has advised and assisted in matters before the Supreme Court of India, various high courts, lower courts and appellate authorities, often providing pre-litigation strategies for clients in industries such as media, entertainment, real estate, infrastructure and financial services.
In addition to litigation, Kamani has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution and real estate, having helped overseas clients to establish office and retail stores across India. She also works on co-operative society matters.
