Morrison Foerster has hired a corporate lawyer and private equity specialist Steven Tran as a partner in its private equity and M&A groups in Singapore.
Tran moved from Hong Kong where he was a partner at Mayer Brown for almost four years. Previously, he also practised in Sydney and Tokyo at other international law firms.
Having nearly 25 years of experience in assisting global and Asia-based private equity funds and their portfolio companies, as well as multinational corporations operating in Asia Pacific, on their complex cross-border private equity and M&A transactions, Tran advises clients across a wide range of sectors, including consumer, technology, real estate, professional services and manufacturing.
He was involved in advising a Southeast Asian sovereign wealth fund on its commercial and residential real estate co-investment in Vietnam, a global private equity fund on its proposed acquisition of a Singapore fintech company, Tricor Group, on the restructuring of its Vietnam and Thailand operations, and many more.
