Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), a sovereign wealth fund headquartered in Singapore, has opened its first office in India in the city of Mumbai.
GIC’s India office will comprise more than 10 investment and asset management professionals and will be headed by Kishore Gotety. The team hopes to develop close relationships with Indian partners, who will support GIC’s vision to be a long-term investor.
GIC deputy chairman and executive director, Tony Tan, said the fund’s investments in public and private markets in India since the 1990s and the setup of GIC’s office in Mumbai signalled its commitment to the Indian growth story.
