M&A expert joins Latham

Sidharth Bhasin, a prominent lawyer within the Indian legal diaspora, has joined Latham & Watkins’ Singapore office as a partner in its M&A and private equity practices.

Bhasin previously led Shearman & Sterling’s India practice from Singapore, advising most recently on OMERS Infrastructure’s USD220 million acquisition of a stake in New York stock exchange-listed Azure Power.

Bhasin advises on public and private M&A transactions, joint ventures, private equity investments and exits, capital markets offerings, and restructurings.

Latham’s chair and managing partner, Rich Trobman, said the appointment strengthened “an already tremendously experienced team in Asia and across the globe”.

Bhasin has worked in New York, Hong Kong and Singapore. “Latham has one of the most active India practices among international law firms, which is complementary to my practice and will enable me to offer my clients in India a wide range of expertise from colleagues who understand the unique needs of India-related transactions,” he said.
