Jakarta-based Arianto & Partners has established a dedicated Japan desk and is open to collaborating with Japanese law firms.
Led by Yoko Takebe, the Japan desk was launched in response to Arianto & Partners advising a growing number of Japanese clients across a broad spectrum of legal matters.
“Over the years, Arianto & Partners has advised and represented an increasing number of Japanese clients across a wide range of legal matters. As our relationship with Japanese businesses continued to grow, we recognised the need to provide more dedicated and tailored legal support,” founding partner Mokki Arianto told Asia Business Law Journal.
“The establishment of our Japan desk reflects our commitment to delivering seamless legal services while bridging linguistic and cultural differences, enabling us to better assist Japanese companies investing in and operating throughout Indonesia.”
Although the Jakarta-based firm has no plans to open a physical office in Japan, Arianto said collaboration with Japanese law firms remained under consideration.
“We are certainly open to exploring opportunities for collaboration with Japanese law firms. We will continue to evaluate both strategic partnerships and future expansion based on market developments and the evolving needs of our clients,” he said.
Officially launched on 1 July 2026, the Japan desk is currently staffed solely by Takebe, but the firm will evaluate the need to expand the team depending on client demand.
“The Japan desk provides comprehensive legal support across all of the firm’s practice areas. These include corporate and commercial law, foreign investment, M&A, employment, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution and commercial litigation. Our objective is to provide Japanese clients with integrated legal solutions that meet their business needs in Indonesia,” Arianto said.
