Sachit Mathur has joined Saraf and Partners as the head of the firm’s real estate practice in New Delhi.
Mathur was heading his own firm, Emerald Law Office, prior to his appointment. Before this, he led the real estate practice at L&L Partners. Mathur brings his entire team with him from Emerald including partners Ajay Bhadu and Astha Singh Trehan.
“Over the 14 years that Sachit spent at L&L, he has worked very closely with me,” said Mohit Saraf, the managing partner at Saraf and Partners.
“He and his team members were mentored by me, and it was unfortunate to watch them leave. But I am glad that everyone has decided to join Saraf and Partners.
Mathur had left L&L Partners along with most of his team during a dispute between managing partner Rajiv Luthra and then senior partner Saraf, the other equity partner at L&L along with Luthra.
Separately, the firm also brought on board Sagar Manju as a partner in its insolvency and restructuring practice in Mumbai. Manju was previously a principal associate at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, with more than a decade of experience.
“I have observed Sagar during some of our mutual transactions and was impressed with his skills and passion,” said Saraf. “Having him on board definitely boosts our insolvency and restructuring practice.”
