IndusLaw hires CAM partner

IndusLaw has added Ravi Kumar, who was previously a partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, as a partner in the firm’s Mumbai office. Kumar has advised on a broad range of corporate transactions and has led highvalue transactions across industries including oil & gas, ports, renewable energy, real estate, financial services, retail, industrials and manufacturing.

He has also advised various large Indian conglomerates and their sponsors on their growth and asset monetisation strategies, regulatory issues, corporate governance and overall strategy.

Veritas promotes four to partnership

Veritas Legal promoted Prachi Dhanani, Kanisha Vora, Somrita Chatterji and Natasha Sethna to the firm’s partnership in its Mumbai office. Dhanani has more than 10 years of experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, and joined the firm in 2015. Vora has more than 10 years of experience and focuses on M&A, private equity and ESG. She joined the firm in 2016.

Chatterji has more than 10 years experience and M&A, private equity, retail and e-commerce, and joined the firm in 2016. Sethna has more than nine years of experience in M&A, private equity, pharma and healthcare, and joined the firm in 2015.

Simha Law gets FLP licence

Simha Law, which is the Singapore avatar of Bengaluru-based Aarna Law, completed a year of operations in the Lion City in October and received its licence to operate a foreign law practice (FLP) in March, which came into effect in August, when its local representative obtained registration as a foreign lawyer.

The FLP licence enables the firm to practise and advise on Indian law and international law from its offices at Maxwell Chambers Suites. Additionally, it is authorised to appear as an expert witness on Indian law in dispute resolution proceedings in Singapore.

AZB promotes seven to partner

AZB & Partners promoted seven to its partnership on 1 October. While partners Gaurav Bansal (competition law), John Adwet Raghav (general corporate) and Vasudha Asher (general corporate) are in the firm’s Mumbai office, partners Ayush Tandon (general corporate), Harsh Kabra (general corporate) and Vatsala Rai (dispute resolution) are all in its Delhi office.

Partner Amrita Sinha (restructuring and insolvency) is in the firm’s Bengaluru office. AZB & Partners has 450 lawyers in five offices across India.
