PDLegal has bolstered its dispute resolution offering in Thailand with the appointment of former public prosecutor Korakod Jittimaporn as counsel.
Jittimaporn previously served as a divisional public prosecutor at the Office of the Attorney General for more than two years. She also spent three years at Weerawong, Chinnavat & Partners, including more than two years as a litigation attorney and six months as a senior associate.
Papon (Paul) Charoenpao, managing partner at PDLegal Thailand, said she would advise clients on contentious, white-collar crime, anti-corruption and administrative law-related matters.
“It is relatively uncommon in Thailand for public prosecutors to transition into private practice, which makes Korakod’s background particularly valuable to our clients,” he told Asia Business Law Journal.
Peter Doraisamy, group managing partner at PDLegal, said growing demand for sophisticated dispute resolution services in Thailand underscored the significance of the hire.
“As demand for sophisticated dispute resolution services continues to grow in Thailand, we are investing ahead of the curve. Korakod is a highly regarded disputes lawyer whose experience and commercial approach make her an excellent fit for our practice. Her arrival strengthens our ability to serve clients facing complex, high-stakes disputes across Thailand and the wider region,” he said.
Joining Jittimaporn in the Thailand office is senior associate Sittichai Duangjumpa, who will strengthen PDLegal’s real estate and hospitality practice.
