Dear Madam,
Your recent report on the growth of the legal market in south India is refreshing and brings a new perspective to the Indian legal market as a whole. Your research was quite comprehensive and we look forward to many more incisive articles from your publication.
The report might also have done well to cover the following additional perspectives: In the past it was considered necessary for young south Indian law graduates to pursue job opportunities in Mumbai or Delhi. This is no longer the case. Over the past five years many corporate attorneys who earned their spurs in Mumbai, Delhi or overseas have moved back home to cities such as Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore to set up pure play corporate practices. This, in turn, has provided an opportunity for local graduates or junior attorneys to stay back and work in these cities.
It is also worth noting that some of the changes and law firm mergers that you reported occurred in the context of a global economic slowdown that deeply affected the real estate and investment practices in south India.
