On 6 November 2014, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and other government departments, jointly issued the Trial Procedures for Foreign Nationals who will Complete Short-term Work Assignments in China, which stipulate the requirements for obtaining short-term work authorisation in China. The trial procedures took effect from 1 January 2015 and echo recent immigration laws and regulations that indicate a stricter approach towards foreigner nationals’ immigration status in China.
