Brian Ho, the former executive director of corporate finance at Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), has joined Kirkland & Ellis’ transactional group as a partner.
Ho had been dedicated to regulatory duties for 27 years and during his time at the SFC, he led the corporate finance division.
He was responsible for significant Hong Kong debut listing decisions including pre-IPO consultations, and oversaw takeovers and mergers regulations and listing policy matters. Besides, Ho was the chief co-ordinator of the SFC to launch the China-Hong Kong Stock Connect scheme.
After his departure, the SFC launched a global recruitment process for a new executive director of the corporate finance department.
