Indian firms, Boolean Legal and IndusLaw, advised on PopReach Corporation’s sale of its games portfolio including its subsidiary based in Bengaluru to UK entity Phoenix Games Holdings for USD9.8 million.

Boolean and IndusLaw advised on Indian law aspects of the transaction, which will see Phoenix buy PopReach Technologies, known as PopReach India. PopReach Corporation, which is doing business as Ionik, is the parent of PopReach India.

The IndusLaw team included partner Nikita Goyal, senior associate Deepansh Goyal, and associate Ayush Singh. Partner Lokesh Shah and senior associate Gaurav Goyal assisted with tax-related matters.

The Boolean team included partner Lalu John Philip and associate Govind Anand.

MLT Aikins served as Canadian counsel to Ionik. Norton Rose Fulbright Canada and DAC Beachcroft acted for Phoenix as Canadian and UK counsel, respectively.

The transaction will allow Ionik to focus on its core advertising and marketing technology businesses, while it expands on its first party data platform.
