International law firm DAC Beachcroft has appointed Andrew Robinson as location head of its Singapore office for a three-year term.
Robinson, who joined the firm from DLA Piper in 2022, succeeds Summer Montague and assumed the role on 1 June 2026.
He said his immediate priority would be to refine the firm’s strategy to better align with client needs.
“As a firm, we’re looking closely at how we evolve our strategy to make sure we stay agile, modern and focused on what our clients need. That’s what underpins our ambition to be the law firm of choice for the global insurance market,” he told Asia Business Law Journal.
Looking ahead, Robinson said he aimed to further position the Singapore office as a key pillar of DAC Beachcroft’s international strategy while expanding certain practice areas.
“My focus is on further establishing Singapore as a key part of DAC Beachcroft’s international strategy, helping us deliver the co-ordinated global support insurers are increasingly looking for,” he said.
“We’ll build on that by growing our presence in the insurance and reinsurance market, supporting the strategic development of our shipping, trade and commodities practice, and Aviation practice, and deepening relationships with clients across the region.”
Robinson said he also planned to leverage Singapore’s position as a gateway to the Asia-Pacific region to strengthen collaboration with DAC Beachcroft’s offices in other jurisdictions.
“Singapore is well placed as a gateway to the Asia-Pacific, and there’s a real opportunity to strengthen collaboration across our offices in other jurisdictions, whether that’s increasingly closer ties with Hong Kong to give clients more choice in the region, or stronger links with Latin America, Europe, North America and soon the Middle East, with our first office opening in the Dubai International Financial Centre later this summer,” he said.
DAC Beachcroft’s Singapore office primarily focuses on insurance. Despite Robinson’s background in the practice, he said there were no immediate plans to expand the insurance team.
