Hiways Law Firm will open new offices in London and Paris by the end of the year in a further overseas strategic move four years after launching its Seattle and Los Angeles offices.
Both offices will focus on litigation and arbitration in labour, corporate, commercial and dispute resolution businesses from Chinese outbound companies.
Raymond Xu, partner and representative of both the London and Paris offices, said: “Based on the unique strength of Britain and France in dealing with multinational transactions and dispute resolution, the London and Paris offices will help other branches to extend their businesses.”
Compliance-dedicated counsel will be placed in the Paris office as heavyweight attention to data protection from the EU, the partner and head of the Paris office, Yuan Zhanyan, said.
She added the office will develop its French-specific practice, focusing on areas such as real estate, immigration, tourism properties and wineries.
