Han Kun Law Offices has appointed Wang Rongxia as patent counsel in Beijing, further strengthening the firm’s intellectual property practice.
Prior to joining Han Kun, Wang served as associate legal director at pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca. Earlier in her career, she successively held positions at the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Examination Department of the Patent Office under the China National Intellectual Property Administration, the Patent Reexamination Board, and Haiwen & Partners.
In a press release, Han Kun said Wang’s appointment would support the firm’s development in areas including patent invalidation, infringement litigation, patent linkage, pharmaceutical patent term extensions and intellectual property strategy advisory work.
Wang has nearly 22 years’ experience in the intellectual property field, focusing on patent litigation and non‑contentious matters in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical sectors. She has handled a range of large and complex matters involving patent invalidation, infringement, grant proceedings and patent linkage disputes.
She is also experienced in intellectual property project management, pharmaceutical patent term extension matters, and IP due diligence in licensing transactions and public listings, advising companies on the optimisation of their IP strategies.
