I enjoyed reading the Intelligence report on the Indian legal market in your July/August issue. I would like to say kudos to India Business Law Journal for covering the perspective of south Indian law offices and firms for the first time, as I can recall. Though we continue to grapple with unique challenges such as those on conservative billing structures (not faced so commonly by our Delhi and Mumbai counterparts), the rapid economic growth over the recent years (and the issues faced in the aftermath of the recent financial meltdown) has resulted in an increased need for quality legal services in south India resulting in a boom of law firms in Chennai and other places in south India seeking to fill this space. I would love to see more on south Indian law firms and offices in future issues of your journal.
