East & Concord Partners has hired 21 partners this year, two of whom are managing partners Bill Li and Lin Zejun based in the Beijing and Shenzhen offices, respectively.
Li, who is qualified in the fund industry and can represent private equity projects, serves as the director of the administrative committee of the Beijing office and the head of the real estate and construction engineering department. He can advise on urban renewal, rural collective land development, as well as real estate finance and securitisation.
With knowledge of international investment and trade, Li represented China’s Ministry of Commerce in the settlement of inter-country trade disputes. He has advised Vantone Real Estate on the China Centre project during the reconstruction of the World Trade Centre in the US.
Prior to joining East & Concord, Li was a director and senior partner at Zhonglun W&D Law Firm, and a legal executive director at Vantone Real Estate.
Lin, who is qualified to practise in British Columbia, Canada, is director of the Greater Bay Area management committee at the firm. He specialises in family trusts and has provided cross-border legal services to more than 60 overseas companies and Chinese high-net-worth families (some of whom are on the Forbes list), mostly in North America, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Cross-border investment, financing, and M&A are also Lin’s expertise. He advised many state-owned and private enterprises as well as commercial banks.
Lin was the Asia-Pacific legal leader of Deloitte Private, a senior partner at Zhong Lun Law Firm and managing partner at Teamwin Law Firm.
