The Bar Association of India organized its annual Rule of Law conference from 9-11 February in Delhi. Around 200 delegates representing various bar associations and councils from 21 states and union territories attended the conference, which was on the theme Judicial Reforms: Restoring Country’s Confidence in Rule of Law – The Way Forward.
The president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Vikas Singh, addressed the conference. A proposition put forward by the president of the Bar Association of India, Lalit Bhasin, that the collegium system for appointments to the judiciary be continued with significant reforms and changes, received overwhelming support from the delegates.
