Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) names Jian Johnson as partner under its finance practice team and will report from the Mumbai office.
Johnson previously was the senior head of the corporate legal group at ICICI Bank, where he had worked for more than 13 years and his expertise includes derivatives.
“With the changes in the derivatives and financial market, his addition will help our firm strengthen its comprehensive offerings to clients,” said L Viswanathan, partner and chair – finance, projects & insolvency at CAM.
The finance practice team will now have 34 partners.
Johnson covered the project finance, markets, treasury, strategy, corporate centre and securitisation verticals at ICICI Bank.
His experience includes financial services mergers and acquisitions, financial regulatory, project finance and securitisation.
He has advised on several transactions including the first initial public offerings of Indian life and general insurance companies.
