Ariel Ye, the head of King & Wood’s cross-border dispute resolution practice and a seasoned PRC litigator, has been appointed to serve on the board of directors of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).

Ye is an arbitrator on the panels of SIAC and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). She has handled arbitration cases before CIETAC, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the International Chamber of Commerce and other international arbitration institutions.

SIAC’s “management, efficiency and cost effectiveness have made it an excellent choice for arbitration in the region,” Ye told China Business Law Journal. “Chinese companies will increasingly look to Singapore as a fair venue for their disputes.”

Ye joined King & Wood in 2004 as a partner. She holds an LLB from Peking University, and LLMs from the China Academy of Social Sciences and from Harvard Law School. She was admitted to practice in the PRC and New York state in 1988 and 1999, respectively.
