AK Law Chambers advised Bengaluru-based health food brand Happilo and its promoters when it recently raised US$13.7 million from A91 Partners. The deal was signed on 25 January and has since closed. J Sagar Associates (JSA) represented A91 Partners, a venture capital fund.
In a comment to India Business Law Journal, Goda Raghavan, a partner at AK Law Chambers, said advising on the deal “was challenging”, as this was the company’s first external investment. AK Law associate Shivani Singh also advised.
JSA’s team comprised: Partners Aarthi Sivanandh and Bhavana Alexander, senior associate Bhargavi Ravi and associates Shika Suresh and Saidharshini Venkatesan.
Raghavan also pointed out that all the lawyers advising on the deal were women.
