Zhong Lun Law Firm has appointed two new partners, He Wei and Yao Pingping, as lateral hires. This is the latest step in an ambitious expansion which has already seen around 20 internal partner promotions this year.
He, who is qualified to practise in China and the United States, will be based in Zhong Lun’s Beijing headquarters. He comes to the firm from the Beijing office of DLA Piper, where he was an associate. He has also practised with Heller Ehrman (which was wound up in September 2008) and Beijing Tian Yuan Law Firm. His specialties include mergers & acquisitions, foreign direct investment, corporate restructurings and private equity.
Yao, who is also qualified to practise in both China and the United States, was formerly senior associate in the Hong Kong office of offshore firm Harney Westwood & Riegels. She is now partner in Zhong Lun’s recently established Hong Kong office. Her practice areas include cross-border mergers & acquisitions, cross-border financing, private equity funds and offshore listings. Before she joined Harney Westwood, she was with Singapore-based firm Colin Ng & Partners
