Duan & Duan Law Firm has hired Vera Gao as a partner and head of the data compliance practice at its Shanghai headquarters. Previously, Gao was a partner and head of the data and compliance and tax law centre at DeHeng Law Offices.
Gao specialises in new economy and internet platform business compliance, data compliance, equity and tax planning. Her legal services encompass various aspects, including IPO data compliance, outbound transfer of local data, data audits and compliance with artificial intelligence-generated content regulations.
She holds the distinction of being an authorised instructor for data protection officers certified by the Examination Institute for Information Science International (EXIN). Established in 1984 under the auspices of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, EXIN is a globally recognised body that assesses and certifies IT and ICT (information and communications technology) professionals worldwide.
