Ericsson, through a Delaware company and subsidiary, has completed its acquisition of Telcordia Holdings from Providence Equity Partners and Warburg Pincus. The purchase was valued at US$1.15 billion.
Telcordia provides telecommunications software and services to communications companies around the world. Ericsson’s acquisition is intended to boost its offering of operations and business support systems – areas in which Telcordia has strong capabilities, particularly in the North American market.
Operations and business support systems facilitate growth in mobile and fixed broadband traffic, new connected devices, services and applications. These systems aid in monetizing traffic and products sold by operators while also enhancing user experience and increasing business and operational efficiency.
