Susan Deng has joined Mayer Brown JSM to lead its China employment and benefits practice. She joins the firm from Standard Chartered Bank, where she was a senior legal counsel specializing in employment matters. Prior to that, Deng worked for Jun He Law Offices and TransAsia Lawyers in Shanghai. She also served for five years as an arbitrator in the Jiangsu Provincial Personnel Department (now known as the Jiangsu Provincial Human Resources and Social Security Department).
Initially stationed in Hong Kong, Deng will subsequently relocate to Shanghai. She will focus on employment issues including recruitment, discrimination, immigration, social insurance, employee benefits, work-related injuries, terminations and trade union-related matters.
