Davis Wang, previously a partner at King & Wood, has joined Simmons & Simmons as a partner. Wang is to head up the English firm’s Beijing office when it opens, which is expected to be in the near future.
Wang is a PRC and US-qualified lawyer specializing in foreign direct investment, M&A, and private equity fund investment and fund formation. He has a particular focus on technology, media and telecommunications.
His recent work includes advising China Unicom on a strategic agreement with Apple concerning the introduction of the iPhone into China, and advising Reuters on the acquisition of a minority stake in ChinaWeb, the parent company of a Chinese financial information portal. He also has expertise in bankruptcy and restructuring, and writes on that topic in this issue of China Business Law Journal (please see Practitioner’s perspective on page 34).
