The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice in July this year approved the name change of two law firms, Silkroad and Anchorite & Sage, following their merger and the new entity has welcomed partner Kevin Yuan.
The merged entity’s new name is Silkroad, Anchorite and Sage Law Firm, while Yuan will join the banking and finance compliance team in the Shanghai office after it is established.
Yuan, formerly the head of finance compliance at FenXun Partners and practised at AllBright Law Offices, has expertise in digital finance, cross-border finance, and asset management.
He previously held executive posts at various finance organisations, including the head of the Law Compliance Department at Bank of China’s head office, deputy manager and board secretary at HSBC Life, law and compliance manager at Chartered Retail Bank, and CFO and co-founder of internet platform Ougong Soft-Mounted, etc. He has also advised many Chinese and foreign banks and insurance companies on anti-money laundering, risk management, business restructuring, corporate compliance and governance, etc.
