Roger Cheng, a senior director and head of the takeovers team at the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong, is set to join Linklaters as a partner in August.
Cheng joined the financial regulator in 2018 to take charge of overall operations concerning takeovers and represent the SFC before the takeovers and mergers panel.
He also contributed to policy initiatives within the SFC, covering listing and post-listing regulations and other areas, as well as taking up the role as a co-leader of the Asia Pacific Takeovers Regulators Forum, a platform for exchanging insights between takeover regulators in the region.
Prior to joining the SFC, Cheng was a partner at Slaughter and May for 13 years in Hong Kong.
