Steven Hsu, a former corporate partner at Sidley Austin, has joined Paul Hastings as a Hong Kong-based partner to expand its capital markets practice.
Hsu focuses on corporate finance and capital markets transactions, including IPOs in Hong Kong and the US, dual primary and secondary listings, and rights offerings. Corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters are also his areas of expertise.
He has advised on many high-profile deals, including China Tower’s HKD53.42 billion (USD6.8 billion) listing on the HKEX, which was one of the world’s largest listings in 2018; Guotai Junan Securities’ HKD16.04 billion listing, the largest Hong Kong IPO in 2017; Yum China’s voluntary conversion of its secondary listing status to a dual primary listing status on the HKEX; and Nongfu Spring’s HKD8.15 billion H-share IPO.
Paul Hastings said the firm had represented parties in more than 10% of the 2022 listings in Hong Kong.
