Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has bolstered its energy and infrastructure team in Tokyo with the appointment of Andrew Duncalf as a partner.
Duncalf joins from A&O Shearman, where he previously worked as a senior associate.
“We are thrilled to welcome Andrew as our partner as we expand the Orrick platform to meet demand for LNG and other energy solutions. Japanese investment will be a critical part of energy transition and security in APAC and Andrew will be invaluable for our clients,” Adam Moncrieff, the leader of Orrick’s Singapore office, told Asia Business Law Journal.
Duncalf specialises in cross-border investment in transactions across renewable energy, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and traditional energy projects. In his new role, he will work closely with Orrick’s teams in Tokyo and Singapore to advise Japanese companies, export credit agencies, development banks, trading houses and other lenders and sponsors on investments across Southeast Asia.
Since January 2025, Orrick has added 25 partners focused on the energy and infrastructure sectors across 13 markets globally.
