Merits & Tree has hired Jean Zhu in Beijing, Jin Zheyuan and Chen Wenhao in Shanghai, as partners.

Zhu joined from Herbert Smith Freehills’ China joint operation, Kewei Law Firm, where she was a counsel. Previously she worked at JunHe and the former Pinsent Masons/Hesen alliance. Zhu’s practice is focused on dispute resolution, real estate and infrastructure, and regulatory and compliance.

Jin formerly worked at DS Avocats in Paris, and City Development Law Firm in Shanghai. His practice is focused on real estate and infrastructure, dispute resolution and banking and financing.

Chen joined from AllBright Law Offices, where he was a partner. He had also worked at Kirkland & Ellis, King & Wood Mallesons and Orrick. Chen’s practice is focused on corporate compliance, antitrust, corporate internal investigation and dispute resolution.
